Soon after, she focused her career in psychiatric care. She has worked in an inpatient psychiatric setting for 16+ years. By chance, Julie found her way into assisted living. Julie joined Cadbury Commons in July 2017. With over 9 years of management experience, she brings her management, organizational and HR skills to help Cadbury continue to evolve to meet the ever-changing and individualized needs of our residents and families. As Associate Executive Director, Julie will focus on training, recruiting and implementing core policies and procedures.
Erica Gathers has been working at Cadbury Commons since 2017. After graduating from Newbury College with a degree in Hotel Administration, Restaurant and Hospitality Services, she started her career at Cadbury as a Front Desk Concierge and was quickly promoted to Lead Concierge. She was then promoted to Director of Memory Care Activities based on her background as an event planner for her company and her love of working with residents in our dementia care community. Erica is now excited to expand her role as Director of Memory Care. After three years of working in this industry, Erica found a passion for working with the elderly population, especially with various forms of dementia.
After immersing herself in the industry, Erica took the opportunities to learn as much as she could. He has attended the Alzheimer’s Association Map Through the Maze conference three years in a row, educating himself on the various aspects of Alzheimer’s disease, staff and activities. In 2020, she obtained a specialist certificate for active aging from SCW Fitness Education. She continues to learn more about the aging process, various aspects of Alzheimer’s and other dementias, and improved ways to engage loved ones in group sessions, Montessori-based activities, and one-on-one interactions with our staff. She likes to interact with the residents and join them in activities when possible. She is proud of her work and the services she provides to staff, families and residents.
