I felt good about kneading the dough and chilling it, but I need to be more careful when making it (especially on my new white table in the kitchen!).
Easy Playdough Recipe Without Cream Of Tartar

It is a delicious natural green shade that is different from using gel food coloring. I love it when paired with natural loose materials like pine cones, pebbles and leaves!
This dye has the strongest smell and makes an amazing purple! I think it’s economical to smell a little cabbage juice to make it. Place a handful of kale (two handfuls if you want it to be blue too), in a pan, cover with water and simmer for about 20 minutes.
Best Diy Playdough For Kids!
This is the only picture I shared right after I finished dyeing because it was so vibrant. I love it! As you can see, it will be a rich purple and immediately add a great color to the dry ingredients. Use 1 cup as directed in the recipe.
Now this blue is a bit complicated to make, trial and error made me try it a few times! I turned red cabbage juice from purple to blue in this amazing color change experiment I did with the kids a few years ago. (By the way, when you have red cabbage, you should continue this activity!)
So I learned how to magically change from purple to blue, but because of the other ingredients in the dough, a new chemical reaction took place and the whole dough became a mousse consistency. ! Interesting, but definitely not what I was trying to create.

To create this shade of blue, you need to create my cake recipe without cream of tartar. Then take a cup of purple cabbage juice and add a teaspoon of bicarbonate of soda (baking soda.) It might be a little saturated, but mix it up to see what happens! Woooo, you made an amazing blue color!
Once they were all set, I took them all out and excited them with a range of light shades. I expected the cabbage and turmeric to stink during the game, but in fact the smell seemed to change.
If you find it too strong (or use a more concentrated sauce) add a little lemon oil to freshen it up.
