Pete The Cat And His Four Groovy Buttons

Pete The Cat And His Four Groovy Buttons – I can still hear Sam’s voice begging me to read him Pete and His Four Funky Buttons by James Dean and Eric Litwin as we sat on the green carpet in the nursery. The other children in the classroom also love Pete the cat and can’t wait to join them whenever he appears. To these young children, Pete the cat is a celebrity.

After doing some research, I was surprised to discover that Pete the Cat is actually a celebrity outside of the picture books. In fact, Pete was already famous even before he made his debut in children’s literature. It all started when an artist named James Dean started painting his cat Pete in the early 2000s. Dean portrays Peeta as a scrawny black cat who engages in a variety of activities and adventures, from drinking coffee to traveling to space. Today, some of Dean’s original paintings of Pete the Cat sell for more than $2,000.
